Laboratory Coordinator in Genomic Microbiology - DTU Food

Infectious diseases, including antimicrobial resistance, are among the most serious threats to animals, human and plant health. A multitude of different pathogens can cause diseases, therefore understanding their ecology, evolution, genomics and phenotypic expression is essential to provide future solutions.

The research group for genomic epidemiology has as a focus on developing tools and solutions for analyzing pathogen genomic data, which are mainly computationally based. This is also combined with different wet-lab investigations and verification of the data for the bioinformatic pipelines and verifying in silico findings through dedicated laboratory experiments.

In addition, we conduct teaching involving development of skills in conducting laboratory investigations. Most of our focus is on bacterial pathogens and metagenomic samples (e.g. faeces). However, we are also involved in working with viruses and parasites.

To support our various and ad hoc laboratory and analytical activities we are seeking a Laboratory Coordinator capable of both conducting a broad range of wet-lab investigations, managing routine obligations, help analysing the data using software and drafting the results in plots and figures, conduct training of students and ensuring the laboratory component of research studies1 …
