Key tasks

- Help build and repair ships - Replace or repair metal parts of a ship's structure - Weld various types of metal, following blueprints and ensuring that the structure can withstand the pressure of the ocean - Inspect structures or materials to be welded - Monitor the welding process and adjust heat as necessary - Maintain equipment and machinery - Use a variety of equipment and methods to permanently join together various metal parts - Typically perform manual welding procedures using Shielded Metal Arc welding (SMAW) or Oxy-Acetylene torches, or use semiautomatic systems such as wire feeder machines - TIG welders - responsible for the fabrication and welding of aerospace tubular, sheet metal a1 …
