Kort om jobbet

We offer a research assistant (RA) position starting between January and March 2027. The project will investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning fungal meningitis, with a particular focus on γδ T cells as well as other subsets of innate and innate-like lymphocytes.

More specifically, we will use an in vivo mouse model of fungal meningitis to understand the importance of type 1 and type 3 γδ T cells in controlling infection.

The position is in close collaboration with Professor Rebecca Drummond at the University of Birmingham, UK, and is part of a consortium comprised additionally by Associate Professor David Meya at the Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Uganda, and by Professor Nanna MacAulay at the University of Copenhagen.

You will join a dynamic and international team that utilizes in vivo mouse work and human clinical samples to understand the development of γδ T cells and their importance in various diseases, such as cancer and inflammation. Technically, our work is heavily focused on flow cytometry andsingle-cell RNA-sequencing and as a successful candidate you are expected to be and/or become an expert in both.

The team has a strong ethos of direct collaboration and you will be often asked to help with and be involved in other projects as a result of helping your colleagues1 …
