Postdoc in Dynamic Optimization of Sustainable Energy Systems - DTU Management

The Climate and Energy Policy Division at DTU's Department of Technology, Management and Economics (DTU Management) offers a postdoc position in the Energy Markets and Finance section. The section researches the enablers of the green transition, focusing on energy market design and policies, network regulation, and financing green investments to ensure viable and carbon-free systems.

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated researcher with a background in operations research, management science, dynamic optimization, applied game theory, energy economics, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will join a new CETPartnership project that develops decision-support methodologies for the operation and flexibility of future industry-integrated energy systems.

Responsibilities and qualifications Future energy systems are becoming increasingly complex due to the rapid electrification of industry, increasing shares of renewable energy, growing interactions between electricity, hydrogen and other energy carriers, and greater market uncertainty.

Addressing these challenges requires new optimization methods capable of supporting robust and economically efficient decision-making across multiple sectors and time scales.
